Job Description

We are looking for Enthusiastic, Motivated, Team-Oriented individuals that want to join Dop's Jerk House that has a Culture of Caring! Must be available to work evening and weekends, serious inquiries only. Our Jamaica restaurant is looking for a Prep Cook/Dishwasher who can help prepare ingredients, chop and portion foods, always following proper food safety guidelines. You will be responsible for prepping, cleaning food, and keeping a sanitized work area. This position will also require washing and properly sanitizing kitchen dishes and equipment. The ideal candidate will be punctual, able to work alone, be organized, and have general knowledge of food practices and cooking techniques.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Prepare basic components of each dish on our menu using our recipes Utilize our serving portion sizes and all basic meal prep procedures used in the kitchen Follow proper food handling safety guidelines Ensure that the kitchen, all food prep areas and all food storage areas meet restaurant cleaning standards; follow proper washing procedures for sanitation of kitchenware and equipment, sweep/mop, and dump trash at the end of the shift. Work next to chef and follow chef instructions Monitor product freshness and rotate out old product based on a schedule created by the restaurant Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds at a time on a regular basis Essential Information Key Skills Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; excellent communication skills; excellent knife skills reliability; initiative; professionalism; patience; ability to stand on your feet for four to eight hours or more a day; comfortable working with a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment. No experience required, but is a plus. Food Handler Certification not required, but is a plus
