Dishwasher/ Kitchen Assistant Location:
University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) Start date: August 12 Company Summary Gill Grilling has provided daily meal service to fraternities and sororities nationwide for over 20 years. Our chefs and kitchen staff prepare meals directly inside chapter houses, tailoring menus to member preferences. Team members enjoy a supportive work environment, a predictable schedule, and a healthy work-life balance. Position Description We are seeking a Dishwasher/ Kitchen Assistant to support the Kitchen Manager at a chapter house. In this role, you'll help withdishwashing and cleaning, while ensuring a safe, organized kitchen. Knowledge of food allergies and safe handling practices is critical . The ideal candidate is reliable, hardworking, and takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Reports To:
Kitchen Manager Key Responsibilities Assist the Kitchen Manager with daily kitchen operations Ensure safe handling and labeling of foods to prevent allergy cross-contact Wash dishes, cookware, and utensils Take out trash and recycling Sweep and mop floors; maintain clean kitchen and dining spaces Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines Skills & Qualifications 4+ years of kitchen experience preferred (commercial equipment a plus) Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team Reliable, organized, and self-motivated Strong work ethic and positive attitude Professional appearance and communication Ability to remain calm and efficient in a busy kitchen environment Benefits Competitive hourly pay Flexible, part-time schedule Supportive and respectful work environment 401(k) with company match (eligibility applies)
