• Treats all Forklift employees fairly and with respect
• Can operate dish machines and dish sinks to company and manufacturer specifications.
• Uses proper measurements of detergent and sanitizer in the dish machine or dish sinks.
• Restocks all utensils, cooking and event related equipment.
• Periodically sweeps and cleans floors during the shift.
• Removes all garbage, compost and recycling.
• Breaks down, cleans, and sanitizes the dish machine at the end of a shift.
• Mops floor at the end of a shift.
• Wipes down and sanitizes any worktables at the end of a shift, as needed.
• Keeps dish and other storage areas clean and organized.
• Hand wash larger items as needed, delicate items that are not dishwasher safe or when the automatic dishwasher is full or unavailable.
• Return all clean china; glass and silver in its proper storage location using care to minimize breakage.
• Clean and maintain commissary bathrooms.
• Assists with loading and unloading of vehicles.
• Performs end of day duties, including wiping down stoves, ovens, prep tables, etc.
• Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by a Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Manager at any time.

Responsibilities:

Properly cleans and sanitizes all dishes, glassware, utensils, cooking equipment and event related equipment. Responsible for maintaining dishroom, dish sinks and dish machines. Assists with cleaning other areas of the commissary, including bathrooms, and delivery vehicles as requested.

Qualifications:

1. Knowledge of basic dish machine operations and basic sanitary guidelines preferred, but can be trained. 2. Ability to take direction. 3. Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and managers. 4. Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure. 5. Valid Massachusetts Driver's License and willingness to drive a van for the purpose of moving on property in order to unload, load. 6. Must adhere to Forklift Catering's commitment to sustainability in all areas, and aid in the efforts to be an environmentally conscientious caterer as written in the official Sustainability Policies.

Working Environment:

This position will spend 100% of the time standing. The individual must be able to transport up to 50 pounds. Occasional environmental exposures to cold, heat, and water.

Works under supervision of Executive Chef and Kitchen Manager Sous Chef.
