In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work environment, preparing ingredients, and supporting the kitchen staff to deliver delicious, high-quality meals. Duties Thoroughly wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to ensure cleanliness and sanitation. Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients following recipe guidelines. Support meal assembly by organizing ingredients and ensuring timely delivery of prepared items to the kitchen team. Maintain cleanliness in all food prep areas, including counters, sinks, storage spaces, and floors, adhering to safety standards. Operate basic kitchen equipment safely, including dishwashers, slicers, mixers, and other small appliances. Follow food safety protocols for handling raw ingredients and cooked foods to prevent contamination. Collaborate with kitchen staff through clear communication to ensure smooth workflow and timely meal service. Requirements Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is essential. Basic knowledge of food handling safety standards and sanitation practices in a commercial kitchen setting. Familiarity with menu planning, food preparation techniques, and culinary terminology is a plus. Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining high cleanliness standards. Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members in a fast-paced environment. Experience in food service or restaurant settings demonstrating reliability and teamwork. Knife skills such as slicing technique are advantageous for assisting with ingredient prep tasks. Knowledge of food safety management practices ensures compliance with health regulations at all times.
