Job Description
Dishwasher Position The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dish area and supporting the overall flow of the café or kitchen. This role helps ensure that dishes, utensils, equipment, and back-of-house spaces are cleaned, sanitized, and ready for use. The ideal candidate is reliable, efficient, and able to work well in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Wash, rinse, sanitize, and properly store dishes, utensils, glassware, smallwares, and kitchen equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe dishwashing area throughout the shift. Keep dishwashing equipment clean and notify a manager of any issues. Remove trash, recycling, and compost as needed. Sweep, mop, and clean assigned back-of-house areas. Assist with basic cleaning tasks as directed by a manager. Restock clean dishes, utensils, and supplies in their proper locations. Follow food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards. Complete assigned opening, closing, and/or daily cleaning tasks. Communicate with team members and managers to support smooth daily operations. Qualifications Previous dishwashing or food service experience preferred, but not required. Ability to work efficiently and stay organized. Strong attention to cleanliness and sanitation. Ability to follow directions and complete assigned tasks. Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to bend, reach, lift, and carry items throughout the shift. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when needed. Comfortable working in wet, warm, and busy back-of-house environments. Expectations The Dishwasher is expected to help maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while supporting the team and ensuring that clean dishes and supplies are available throughout service.
