Overview Join our dynamic culinary team as a Dishwasher/Food Prep specialist, where your energy and attention to detail will keep our kitchen running smoothly and efficiently. This vital role ensures that all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are impeccably cleaned and sanitized, supporting the overall food preparation process. You'll play a key part in maintaining a safe, organized, and hygienic environment that allows our culinary staff to deliver exceptional meals. Responsibilities Thoroughly wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment following established safety standards in production. Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as slicing ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques to support meal assembly. Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen by regularly cleaning workstations, floors, sinks, and storage areas to uphold food safety management protocols. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including dishwashers, sinks, and food prep tools. Support the culinary team with meal preparation tasks while adhering strictly to recipe guidelines and portion control. Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed during all stages of food service to prevent contamination. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate cleaning schedules and assist with catering or special event setups when needed. Experience Previous experience working in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable. Background in food service or restaurant environments demonstrating familiarity with food industry standards. Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and experience with food safety management practices. Skilled in basic culinary techniques such as slicing, chopping, and ingredient prep; experience with knife skills is a plus. Experience operating kitchen equipment like dishwashers, slicers, or other prep tools preferred. Strong understanding of food handling procedures, recipe adherence, and meal preparation processes. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff; previous catering or serving experience is advantageous.
