Job Summary:
The Dishwasher at Nokomis House plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen. You will ensure that all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are cleaned and sanitized efficiently, helping to support the kitchen staff in delivering exceptional dishes to our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleanliness & Sanitation:
Thoroughly wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment.
Organization:
Ensure that cleaned items are properly stored in their designated areas, maintaining an organized and efficient kitchen.
Waste Management:
Dispose of trash, recycling, and compost in accordance with restaurant protocols and city regulations.
Kitchen Support:
Assist kitchen staff with basic prep tasks as needed, such as washing and peeling vegetables or organizing supplies.
Maintenance:
Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of dishwashing equipment, reporting any malfunctions or maintenance needs to the kitchen manager.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other kitchen and restaurant staff to ensure smooth and efficient service during busy hours.
Health & Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring a clean and safe work environment at all times.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Previous experience in a restaurant setting is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.
Skills:
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong attention to detail.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs.), and work in a hot, humid environment.
Team Player:
Willingness to work as part of a team and take direction from kitchen supervisors.
Flexibility:
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
