Job Description

Dishwashers report to the Head Chef, and are responsible for the following: Kitchen Management Activities Load and unload dishwashing machines Wash specific larger items by hand (e.g. large pots and pans, cutting boards) Store clean dishes, glasses and equipment appropriately Set up workstations before meal prep begins Ensure there are always enough clean dishes, glasses and utensils, especially during peak hours Check washing machines' operation and promptly report any technical/performance issues Dispose of full garbage cans throughout the kitchen regularly, replacing can liner afterwards Regularly sanitizes kitchen surfaces throughout the day; Assists in daily deep cleaning of specific areas in the kitchen and dining hall, e.g., floors, counters, ovens, stoves, fridges, carpet, etc. Assist with stocking truck deliveries Identify any safety or health concerns immediately to the Directors. Close the kitchen after camp ends on July 29, 2026. Who You Are & Keys to Success (the must-haves): To be successful in this job, you excel in the following areas: Previous experience as a dishwasher in a camp, restaurant, or similar high-volume setting preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-energy environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the unique needs of a summer camp kitchen. ServSafe certification or equivalent is preferred.
Pay:
$12.00 - $15.00 per hour
