• $19 an hour 7 hours ago Qualifications Pre-cooking preparation Teamwork Kitchen knives Attention to detail Full Job Description An up-and-coming Korean and pan-Asian pub concept is hiring all BOH positions, including Dishwasher / Porter / Commis /Prep Cook to join our kitchen team.

Full and part-time schedules available. Expected weekly hours is 45-50hrs/wk for full time positions. Part-time schedules can be flexible. The menu will focus mainly on Korean street food classics, but there will be significant room for seasonal specials that draw from food traditions across east and southeast Asian cuisines. Knowledge of these cuisines is a big plus, but not required as we expect to be training our kitchen team members who may not be familiar with the cuisines. This position is ideal for someone who is perhaps younger and may not have the strongest resume, but is willing to put in the work and learn quickly on the job with opportunity to move up to garde manger and the line if dedication and hard work are shown. However, veterans of the kitchen should not be discouraged if upward progress to the line is not their goal. Prep work will be working closely with the chef who is willing to teach those who are receptive to constructive criticism and learning. Good communication and a teamwork-oriented mindset will be paramount. Initial regular check-ins with chef during training to ensure projects are done correctly and consistently should be expected, but will become less frequent as the employee learns and shows competency. • Work well in a fast-paced kitchen and with potentially hazardous equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, slicers, mixers, and other appliances
• Be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs
• Maintain cleanliness of the dishpit and prep areas, utensils, kitchen tools, and equipment to ensure compliance with food safety standards
• Attention to detail and follow proper food handling procedures to prevent (cross) contamination, guest dietary restrictions, and ensure the quality and safety of food and service
• Help check, store, and label kitchen deliveries for accuracy and freshness/integrity of product
• The dish/prep position is considered part of the prep team and will work with chef to complete larger, prep-ahead items and projects
• Some knife skills are preferrable but not necessary. A willingness to practice and improve knife skills is a must.
