Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Prep Cook / Dishwasher to join our Dining Services team. This position is responsible for assisting with food preparation, maintaining kitchen cleanliness and sanitation, and supporting daily kitchen operations to ensure an exceptional dining experience for residents and guests. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and works well as part of a team. Key Responsibilities:
Assist with food preparation and meal service according to menus and standardized recipes Prepare ingredients including vegetables, soups, sauces, meats, and other menu items Ensure special dietary needs and food modifications are prepared correctly Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment thoroughly and efficiently Operate dishwashing equipment safely and ensure proper sanitizing temperatures are maintained Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kitchen and dining areas Sweep, mop, sanitize workstations, and remove trash regularly Receive, rotate, and properly store food and kitchen supplies Keep kitchen floors and work areas clean and free of hazards at all times Assist cooks and dining staff during meal service as needed Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations Attend required trainings, meetings, and in-services Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership Qualifications & Experience:
High School Diploma or GED preferred Previous prep cook, dishwasher, kitchen, or food service experience preferred SNF/ALF experience is a plus Food handler certification may be required based on local regulations Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Strong teamwork and communication skills Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards preferred Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift Frequent bending, lifting, reaching, and carrying Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed Ability to perform repetitive kitchen and cleaning tasks Core Skills & Attributes:
