Dishwasher Sakana AYCE Wayne, NJ Job Details Part-time | Full-time $17 - $20 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Paid training Paid time off Employee discount Flexible schedule Qualifications Spanish Stocking Food safety Full Job Description Sakana Wayne, a new Japanese all-you-can-eat restaurant anticipated to open in late August 2026, is hiring Dishwashers to join our opening team. We are looking for dependable and hardworking team members who can keep dishes, kitchen equipment, and work areas clean and organized during busy restaurant service. Previous restaurant experience is preferred but not required. Paid pre-opening training will be provided. Responsibilities Wash and sanitize plates, bowls, utensils, cookware, sushi equipment, and kitchen tools. Properly operate and clean the commercial dishwashing machine. Check water temperature and chemical levels according to food-safety procedures. Return clean items to the correct storage areas promptly. Keep the dish area, sinks, racks, walls, floors, and surrounding work areas clean and organized. Remove trash, recycling, and cardboard safely and on schedule. Sweep and mop kitchen floors and clean floor drains as assigned. Support the kitchen team with basic cleaning, restocking, and light food-preparation duties when needed. Follow all sanitation, chemical-handling, and workplace-safety procedures. Immediately report equipment problems, chemical shortages, broken glass, leaks, or unsafe conditions. Complete assigned opening, closing, and deep-cleaning duties. Qualifications Dishwasher or restaurant-kitchen experience is preferred but not required. Dependable, punctual, organized, and able to work efficiently during busy shifts. Comfortable working in a hot, wet, and fast-paced kitchen environment. Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Evening, weekend, holiday, and closing availability is strongly preferred. Must be available for paid training before the restaurant opens. English, Spanish, and Chinese speakers are welcome. Team members must be able to communicate safely and clearly at work.
