This role ensures a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen while assisting with food preparation for clients receiving care across detox, residential, PHP, and IOP support tracks . This position plays a key part in infection control, safety compliance, and delivering a supportive, therapeutic dining experience.
SHIFT:
Full-Time open availability Key ResponsibilitiesDishwashing & Sanitation Operate commercial dishwasher, ensuring all dishes, utensils, cookware, and food-service equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized Maintain kitchen cleanliness, including floors, counters, sinks, storage areas, dish stations, and trash removal Follow infection control , food safety , and hazard prevention protocols Adhere to regulatory standards including Joint Commission/CARF/JCAHO readiness , and state health-department requirements Use proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals and sanitizers Maintain compliance with OSHA safety , ServSafe guidelines , and facility policies Food Prep Support Assist kitchen staff with ingredient washing, cutting, portioning, labeling, and storage Prepare basic meal components (vegetables, fruits, proteins, garnishes, snacks, etc.) Support meal assembly for inpatient units under chef or kitchen manager direction Help organize kitchen inventory, rotate stock (FIFO), and store deliveries safely Assist with preparing client snacks and therapeutic-unit food needs Safety & Behavioral Health Environment Support Maintain awareness of contraband and safety-risk items in dishware and kitchen tools Support safe, therapeutic meal service for inpatient clients Collaborate respectfully with clinical and kitchen staff to meet unit-level meal timing Maintain professionalism, calm communication, and trauma-informed awareness when interacting with client-adjacent environments Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Commercial kitchen, dishwashing, or food-prep experience preferred Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs Ability to work in a fast-paced, compliance-focused healthcare kitchen Team-oriented, reliable, and safety-focused mindset Experience in healthcare, residential programs, or behavioral health dining support is a strong plus
