Job Description
Job Description- Kitchen Dishwasher Position Mission:
Kitchen Dishwasher monitors the dining hall and the kitchen to ensure it is maintained in an organized and sanitary manner. Ensuring cleanliness throughout the shift by removing dishes, cleaning surfaces, sweeping and removing wastes as needed. This work helps foster a time of community, reflection, and growth in campers' and organizations' experiences through the pleasure of sharing quality food in a warm and clean atmosphere.Position Responsibilities:
- Prepare fresh sanitizer buckets at the start of each shift. Change every four hours or as needed throughout the workday.
- Thoroughly clean, sanitize, and put away all the dishes, pots, and pans, paying close attention to kitchen organization. If the designated area is dirty, sanitize before putting clean items away.
- Empty trash, compost, and sort recycling bins from dining room and kitchen into the correct areas. Scrub bins with cleaner and brush on the loading dock and replace them to assigned places.
- Break down all recyclable materials used by the kitchen staff as the accumulate and place into specific bins.
- Responsible for cleaning/mopping up spills in the dining hall and kitchen immediately upon notification.
- Responsible for sweeping/mopping the dining hall and kitchen at the end of each shift.
- Keep dishwasher area and equipment clean throughout shift.
- Make sure all paper products are stocked full throughout the shift.
- Make sure soap dispensers are full and ready to use.
- Check salt and pepper shakers in the dining hall and fill when necessary.
- Fill water pitchers and check milk/apple buckets are ready by the Kitchen Associate.
- Supply clean dishes to food service lines for each meal as needed.
- Set up and tear down the dish station and sanitize buckets as needed for each meal.
- Help with food service as needed and directed by the Kitchen Assistant Head Cook of that shift.
- Help with freight when needed.
- Make sure sinks are ready and filled for the start of KP.
- Wash and shelve dishes and utensils as needed; clean and sanitize surfaces as well as equipment in kitchen and dining hall.
- Wipe down shelves, counter tops, counter fronts, windows, coffee/tea area, and dry storage.
- Work quickly and efficiently with a polite and service-based attitude toward campers, co-workers and other camp staff.
- Prepare the dining hall for the setting of the hot lines and tables before each meal. Make sure the coffee, tea, and juice area all have the supplies as needed for the next meal.
- Make sure Laundry is going if needed each day.
- At the end of each shift to make sure the kitchen bathroom is sanitized.
