You will be responsible for ensuring all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to food safety standards. Responsibilities Operate commercial dishwashing equipment efficiently while adhering to food safety sanitizing procedures. Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen tools promptly to ensure availability for food preparation and service. Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed, including organizing supplies and handling ingredients safely. Support bussing duties by clearing tables and transporting dirty dishes to the dishwashing station. Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by cleaning work surfaces, floors, and storage areas regularly in compliance with sanitation standards. Follow proper manual handling techniques when lifting heavy loads such as large pots or stacked dish racks to prevent injury. Support overall kitchen health and safety standards by reporting hazards and ensuring equipment is used correctly. Qualifications Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; a willingness to learn is essential. Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitation procedures is highly desirable. Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, sinks, and basic tools safely. Strong manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy items safely. Excellent attention to detail for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
