The Fort Worth Club's Culinary Team has an opening for a Steward at the oldest, private, member-owned club in Texas, ranked 5th amongst city clubs nationwide by Platinum Clubs of America. Job Description The Steward plays an essential role in supporting the Culinary and Banquet Teams by maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and dishwashing operation. The Steward is responsible for ensuring that dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, equipment, and work areas are cleaned and properly maintained throughout each shift. Adapting to The Fort Worth Club's Platinum Standards is a must. A strong work ethic, sense of urgency, attention to cleanliness, and willingness to work as part of a team are essential. What You'll Do Report to your assigned station promptly and work with a consistent sense of urgency and attention to detail. Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment by machine or by hand. Maintain the dish area throughout the shift by sweeping, mopping, cleaning, and keeping the area organized. Ensure clean items are properly stored, and that dishwashing and storage areas are left clean and organized. Operate and maintain the dish machine according to proper procedures, including changing water regularly during periods of heavy use. Keep the pot sink, dish area, racks, carts, and surrounding work areas clean and organized. Sweep and scrub kitchen floors at required times throughout the day and at the end of the shift. Properly maintain trash receptacles, empty trash as needed and assist with trash removal and other cleaning duties. Maintain mop sink and cleaning areas according to proper sanitation and storage standards. Ensure cleaning chemicals are properly labeled and stored and that required cleaning supplies are available. Set up the dirty rag station at the beginning of the morning shift and deliver dirty rags to the laundry at the end of the night shift. Follow all proper sanitation, food safety, and workplace safety practices, including the use of Wet Floor Signs when appropriate. Report damaged, compromised, or improperly functioning equipment to a supervisor promptly. Assist with food preparation and other kitchen duties as requested by the Sous Chefs. Work cooperatively with chefs, cooks, banquet staff, and other team members to ensure the kitchen operates efficiently. When your assigned duties are complete, use your time productively by assisting teammates or asking a supervisor for additional duties. Maintain an uncompromising level of cleanliness, sanitation, organization, and professionalism throughout the shift. Education and Experience Previous experience in a professional kitchen, restaurant, hotel, private club, or similar food service environment is preferred but not required. On-the-job training will be provided for candidates who demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn. A current Nationally Recognized Food Handler's Card is required. Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing for extended periods, lifting, carrying, bending, sweeping, mopping, and working around water and cleaning equipment. Expected Hours of Work Mon-Sat, 8 to 9 hour shifts falling between 6:00 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. May be required to work occasional Sundays and holidays during prime business times.
