Job Description
Overview Join our dedicated dietary team as a Dietary Aide/Dishwasher, where your energy and attention to detail will play a vital role in creating a warm, welcoming environment for our residents. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the well-being of individuals in assisted living or nursing home settings by supporting meal service, maintaining sanitation standards, and ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen. You will be an essential part of a compassionate team committed to providing nutritious meals and exceptional care. Duties Assist with food preparation and meal service, ensuring all dietary requirements are adhered to for residents with specific nutritional needs Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including dishwashers, ovens, and food warmers Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by cleaning dishes, utensils, kitchen surfaces, and dining areas in compliance with food safety regulations such as JCAHO standards Support food handling and serving processes, including bussing tables and assisting with tray delivery to residents Follow safe lifting practices during manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting or moving supplies and equipment Adhere to workplace safety protocols and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times to ensure a safe environment for staff and residents Assist with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of stock needs or safety concerns Requirements Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or food industry settings is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate Knowledge of food production, food handling, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively throughout shifts Basic math skills for accurate portioning and inventory tracking Experience working with geriatric patients or in dietary departments is a plus Commitment to adhering to dietary requirements and nutrition guidelines for residents Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and follow all health regulations.
