• Job Description:

• Responsible for dishwashing and other general housekeeping tasks. Maintains the Culinary Department in a sanitary, safe, and clean condition that meets hospital, Health Department and Joint Commission standards.

• Essential Functions
• + Cleans and sanitizes dishes + Collects carts with patient trays from hospital floors.

+ Cleans and disinfects assigned areas including dining areas using department cleaning procedures. + Uses cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards. + Understands procedures and properly disposes of infectious waste and trash. + Operates and maintains assigned equipment (e.g. commercial dishwasher) according to established procedures.

• Qualifications
• + •Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification is required by first day of work•+ •One or more year of experience in food service or general housekeeping preferred•+ Demonstrates ability to read color coded labels and chemicals as well as following written and verbal directions + Demonstrate ability to operate housekeeping equipment and dish machine (preferred) •Physical Requirements•+ Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.

+ Occasional interaction with customers that requires employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately. + Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use. + Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items. + Remain standing for long periods of time to perform work. + Tolerate extremes in temperature such as performing work around dish machines and tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals.
