Responsibilities Thoroughly wash dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using manual cleaning techniques or dishwashing machines. Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to ensure all items meet health standards. Assist with food preparation tasks when needed, including basic ingredient handling and setup. Support bussing duties by clearing tables and transporting used dishware to the dishwashing area efficiently. Maintain cleanliness in the dishwashing station and surrounding kitchen areas by regularly sanitizing surfaces and equipment. Adhere to all kitchen health and safety standards, including proper manual handling techniques and safe operation of kitchen machinery. Assist with heavy lifting tasks such as moving large pots or crates of supplies while following safe lifting practices. Support sanitation protocols during food handling processes to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with food safety management systems. Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during busy service periods. Experience Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is valued. Familiarity with food safety procedures, sanitation practices, and kitchen health standards is advantageous. Experience with dishwashing equipment or operating basic kitchen machinery is a plus. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking. Knowledge of basic food handling and hygiene practices contributes to success in this role. Prior banquet or hospitality experience can be beneficial but is not required; a positive attitude and eagerness to support the team are essential.
