The store is primarily an Italian Grocery and Delicatessen with a reputation for Italian and Specialty Foods that reaches from coast to coast. The store includes Milwaukee's #1 delicatessen, prepared fresh-to-go foods, catering, coffee service, bakery, cheese, wine, and spirits. You'll support culinary operations by ensuring all dishes, utensils, and kitchen areas are spotless and ready for service, while also assisting with food preparation tasks. Your enthusiasm will help create a seamless dining experience for guests and team members alike. Responsibilities Efficiently wash dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans using proper cleaning techniques to meet health standards Maintain cleanliness of kitchen stations, including counters, sinks, and storage areas Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables or assembling ingredients under supervision Support catering and banquet setups by organizing supplies and ensuring timely delivery of prepared items Follow food handling safety protocols to ensure hygiene and prevent cross-contamination Clear tables and bus tables promptly to maintain a clean dining environment Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during busy service times Skills Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key Knowledge of food handling safety standards and sanitation practices Ability to perform cleaning duties efficiently while adhering to health regulations Basic culinary skills such as food preparation or cooking are a plus Experience with banquet or catering events enhances your ability to support large-scale operations Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment Hospitality mindset with a focus on guest satisfaction and cleanliness standards
