Position Summary:
The Dishwasher is an essential support role that keeps Nourish programs, events, and rentals running smoothly and efficiently. This position is responsible for dishwashing, kitchen cleanliness, bussing, and general operational support across scheduled programs and rental events. Working closely with the Program Director, lead staff, and volunteers, the Dishwasher contributes directly to the quality of every guest experience at Nourish and to the sanitation of the kitchen. This is an ideal role for someone who takes pride in hands-on work and is passionate about being part of a mission-driven team.
Responsibility Level:
Specialist/Assistant — Individual contributor role supporting rental, program, and experience delivery. This position operates with day-to-day direction from the Program Director or Event Lead and does not hold budget authority.
Budget and Resource Responsibility :
This position has no independent budget authority. The Dishwasher is responsible for the appropriate use of the dishwasher, dishwashing sinks, sanitizer and cleaning products, equipment, and supplies in alignment with program and facility needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Rental and Program Support
  • Serve as lead dishwasher using the commercial dishwasher, sanitation sinks, and appropriate cleaning products for scheduled rentals.
  • Assist the Program Director, lead event oversight staff, and event bartenders with needs for rentals, experiences, and programs, including but not limited to setup, food prep, AV equipment, bussing, restocking, and cleaning.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace through efficient and thorough dishwashing, cleaning, and putting away of dishes.
  • Assist with sweeping, mopping, and closing of kitchen and dishwashing area.
  • Assist with setup and takedown for successful implementation of programs, classes, and experiences.
  • Assist with light food preparation, office organization, and laundry as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with the Executive Director, staff, interns, and volunteers.
Mission Support Represent Nourish's mission and programs accurately to community members, visitors, site staff, volunteers, and donors.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not supervise staff, interns, or volunteers. Required Qualifications Attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness. Ability to work effectively as part of a team with staff, volunteers, and community members. Ability to work independently, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and report to event oversight before ending a shift Availability for primarily evening, weekend, and occasional holiday shifts. Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid Driver's License Experience operating a commercial dishwasher. Prior event or hospitality experience. Mission Alignment — Commitment to representing Nourish values in guest interaction. Time Requirements This position is primarily evening and weekend work to support Nourish programs. Some holiday work may be required to support scheduled programs.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements Work Environment:
This role operates across a variety of settings including professional indoor event spaces, commercial kitchens, outdoor farm environments, and gardens. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for extended periods (up to 6+ hours per shift)
  • Regularly transport dishes or carts of supplies for setup, refill, and breakdown
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs
  • Ability to bend, reach, and move quickly in a fast-paced event environment Schedule Requirements
  • This position requires availability for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as scheduled to support Nourish rentals and programs
