To thrive as a Part-Time Recreation Associate I at the Cortez Recreation Center, candidates must possess a strong set of skills focused on customer service and safety. Outstanding customer service is essential, as you'll be the friendly face welcoming visitors and assisting them with their needs. Effective communication skills are vital for interacting with the public and collaborating with co-workers. A good knowledge of city activities will enhance your ability to engage with community members. You should be safety-minded, ready to promptly address unsafe situations, and able to lift and move equipment like spin bikes, tables, and chairs. Additionally, you will be required to learn the operation of various facilities and equipment, including fitness equipment and sports setups. Finally, obtaining First Aid/CPR/AED certification within 90 days of hire is a vital aspect of ensuring the safety of all patrons at the Recreation Center. Knowledge and skills required for the position are: Must be able to provide outstanding customer service be friendly and helpful. Must be able to assist cleaning various areas within the Recreation Center. Must have the ability to communicate with the public and co-workers. Must have knowledge of City activities. Must be safety-minded and willing to address unsafe situations reacting promptly. Must be able to lift and move spin bikes tables and chairs. Must be able to learn how to operate facilities within the Recreation Center including fitness equipment rock wall auto-belays gym divider screen and how to set up and use various sports equipment. Must acquire First Aid/CPR/AED certification within 90 days of hire.
