Job Description
As a Bowl Desk Attendant at our family entertainment center, you will be the main point of contact for guests visiting the bowling alley. Your exceptional customer service skills, organizational abilities, and knowledge of the center's offerings will ensure that guests have a smooth and enjoyable experience.
Responsibilities:
1.Guest Check-In:
- Welcome and greet guests as they arrive at the bowling alley.
- Assist with guest registration, lane assignment, and shoe rental.
Lane Management:
- Assign lanes to guests based on availability and group size.
- Coordinate with the bowling mechanics to ensure smooth lane operation.
Shoe Rental:
- Provide guests with bowling shoe options and assist with fitting.
- Collect shoe rental fees and keep track of shoe inventory.
Guest Assistance:
- Answer guest inquiries about bowling rules, scoring, and lane operation.
- Offer guidance to beginners and provide tips to enhance the bowling experience.
Cash Handling:
- Accurately process payments, cash transactions, and lane reservations.
- Maintain accurate cash register records and handle cash responsibly.
Equipment Oversight:
- Ensure that bowling balls and equipment are in good condition and available for guests.
- Address any equipment malfunctions promptly and report issues to the appropriate personnel.
Lane Maintenance:
- Monitor lane conditions, address pin jams, and reset pins as needed.
- Coordinate with the bowling mechanics for more complex lane issues.
Guest Engagement:
- Interact with guests in a friendly and helpful manner, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
- Build rapport with regular bowlers and provide personalized service.
Upselling and Promotion:
- Promote special offers, league sign-ups, and additional activities available at the entertainment center.
- Encourage guests to explore other attractions and amenities.
Health and Safety:
- Enforce safety rules and guidelines in the bowling area to prevent accidents.
- Address any safety concerns and report incidents to the appropriate personnel.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a bowl desk attendant, customer service representative, or in a similar role in a bowling center or entertainment setting is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with guests and provide information about bowling procedures.
- Cash handling experience and the ability to manage transactions accurately.
- Basic understanding of bowling equipment, lane operation, and scoring (training will be provided).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain a well-organized bowl desk area.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the operational needs of the family entertainment center.
