Job Description
The Palace Theater is looking for a hard-working individual to join our team as an Usher. Being a part of our event staff brings the excitement of helping to run a diverse line up of live shows and films at a 100-year-old historic non-profit theater. Basic Duties Include (but are not limited to): Opening and Closing - Ready the theater to open + post-event clean up (sweeping, mopping, emptying rubbish, cleaning bathrooms, restocking) Greeting patrons upon arrival; checking tickets, providing clear directions and information. Assisting patrons with seating. Monitoring crowd control - be prepared to resolve minor conflicts swiftly and professionally. Maintain a pleasant environment and experience for patrons. Direct and station volunteers as needed. Conduct routine inspections of different areas of the venue to ensure cleanliness and readiness for patrons at all times (this includes the lobby, bathrooms and auditorium). Monitor the lobby, theater entrances and seating areas to uphold safety standards. This is a part-time position. In addition, new hires may be trained in the concessions, the box office to manage ticket sales, and may be eligible for promotion to House Manager once trained in all positions. Previous managerial experience for this role is preferred.
