BASIC FUNCTION
Under the directions of the Director of Golf, the Golf Shop Attendant is responsible to provide service to the members and guests in starting times, tee time coordination, answering telephone calls, rules and policies, accurate play totals, GHIN handicapping recording, and any other duties needed by the Director of Golf.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain a clean area around the Golf Shop. Maintain a clean Golf Shop and a neat visual rack and display of the clothing. Maintain a neat and clean work counter area. Assist members without games in finding appropriate games. Know the conditions of play for the day. Answer telephone in a friendly manner and members with day of play or future tee times. Maintain an adequate supply of scorecards, pencils, scorecards, ball markers, and tees at the Golf Shop counter. Adjust tee line up if groups are not ready to tee off to assure the orderly flow of play in accordance with the policies and procedures of the club. Close end of day transactions, balance credit card transactions. Works with Club Essentials to maintain POS and tee sheet Builds tee sheets for tournaments and other golf events Installs Standing Tee Times monthly.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires reading, writing, and speaking English. Understanding the POS accounting system in the Golf Shop Knows how to use the VISA and Master Card machine and knows how to execute closing procedures at the end of the day. Must know how to secure the Golf Shop at day's end.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to wet weather conditions which may include thunder and lightning. At times may work under hot and humid weather conditions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing this job must be able to carry a golf bag weighting up to 80 pounds. At times will be required to help carry boxes upstairs during work shift.
MENTAL DEMANDS
This position requires a friendly manner and disposition throughout the work shift. Must be willing to always help the members and their guests when on your work shift.
