Seasonal Recreation Worker
RATE OF PAY
$13.73/hour (Hire) $14.23/hour (1-year)

Open until filled 2+ Seasonal position(s) with part-time, variable hours and no benefits other than as provided under the Earned Sick Time Act (ESTA).
Approximate employment period:
May 1 through mid-October (2026)
GENERAL SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Assistant Buildings & Grounds Supervisor, seasonal position is responsible for lawn maintenance of County properties. Performs all work in accordance with essential functions and responsibilities as described below.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Cuts grass and trims lawns at all facilities.2. Picks up trash and empty trash receptacles.3. Lines ball fields and sets them up for ball games.4. Repairs bleachers and corals.5. Sweeps curbs, walks and parking lots.6. Uses equipment such as walking and riding mowers, push mowers, chain saws and a variety of powered and non-powered hand tools.7. Removes unwanted weeds.8. Punctual and consistent attendance is an essential function.9. Performs other required tasks and duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at 18 years of age. Must have a valid Michigan driver's license with a good driving record. Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS
(With or without reasonable accommodation) Work tasks are performed mainly outdoors and involve physical strength and endurance. Must be able to work in varying temperatures and inclement weather. Must be able to exert and lift 20 to 50 pounds.
