Job Description

The City of South Sioux City is accepting applications for a Seasonal Golf Course Pro Shop Attendant. This position provides customer service and operational support within the municipal golf course clubhouse during the golf season. Duties include assisting patrons, scheduling tee times, processing transactions, and maintaining a clean, organized pro shop environment. Work is performed under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent or designated supervisor. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Greet golfers and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Operate point-of-sale systems to process greens fees, cart rentals, and merchandise sales.
  • Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately.
  • Answer telephones and provide information regarding tee times, course rules, events, and policies.
  • Assist with tee time scheduling and daily course operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the Pro Shop
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures of the Pro Shop.
  • Monitor activity to ensure compliance with City and golf course policies.
  • Work evenings, weekends, holidays, and early mornings as required during the golf season.
  • Perform related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent, or currently enrolled student.
  • Ability to provide courteous customer service to the public.
  • Basic cash handling skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening. Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in customer service, retail, or hospitality.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale systems.
  • General knowledge of golf or golf course operations.
Physical Requirements This position requires standing for extended periods, walking, bending, and light lifting up to 25 pounds. Work is primarily indoors with periodic outdoor duties and frequent interaction with the public. Benefits This is a seasonal position and is not eligible for full-time City benefits, except as provided by City policy or applicable law.
