Recreation Attendant Qualifications for all positions include the ability to work as a team member within this department AND all other departments, reliable transportation, valid driver's license with good record, working outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions, walking, sitting or standing for extended periods of time, including pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, or lifting up to 50 pounds. Some positions may require lifting more than 50 pounds. While an individual may be assigned to this role, situations may arise which would REQUIRE assistance in other areas or departments. Position Summary The Recreation Attendant is responsible for helping to plan, organize, and facilitate recreational activities and special events for guests of all ages at Lakewood Camping Resort. This position helps create a fun, safe, and welcoming environment by promoting guest participation, maintaining recreational facilities and equipment, and delivering exceptional customer service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist in planning, organizing, and leading daily recreational activities, games, crafts, sports, tournaments, and special events. Encourage guest participation and create a positive, engaging atmosphere. Supervise activities to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all participants. Set up, operate, and break down equipment and supplies for recreational programs and events. Maintain recreation areas, activity rooms, sports courts, and equipment in a clean, organized, and safe condition. Monitor guests conduct and enforce resort policies and safety rules in a professional manner. Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and assisting guests with recreation-related needs. Assist with holiday events, themed weekends, and resort-wide activities. Promote upcoming events through guest interaction and other communication channels. Report accidents, injuries, equipment damage, and safety concerns to management promptly. Maintain accurate attendance records and activity participation logs as required. Assist with decorating and preparing activity areas for special events. Perform basic first aid and emergency response procedures when trained and authorized. Support other resort departments as needed to enhance the guest experience. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in recreation, hospitality, childcare, customer service, or event coordination preferred. Experience working with children, families, and large groups is a plus. CPR, First Aid, and AED certification preferred or willingness to obtain. Valid driver's license preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Friendly, energetic, and outgoing personality. Ability to engage guests of all ages in recreational activities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to handle guest concerns professionally and courteously. Basic knowledge of recreational games, crafts, and group activities. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing schedules. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and rain. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as required for activity setup and cleanup. Work Schedule Flexible schedule required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Seasonal and peak-period availability may be required. Overtime may be required during special events and holiday weekends.
