Job Description

The Noorda Center for the Performing Arts is seeking enthusiastic, customer-focused individuals to join our Front-of-House team as Event Staff I - Crowd Managers. This part-time position plays a vital role in creating a welcoming, safe, and enjoyable experience for patrons attending performances, concerts, lectures, and special events. Crowd Managers greet guests, scan tickets, assist with seating, provide event information, support accessibility accommodations, and help manage audience flow throughout the venue. Team members also assist with patron safety, monitor venue conditions, respond to guest concerns, and support emergency procedures when needed. Successful candidates are dependable, professional, and enjoy working with the public in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication, customer service, teamwork, and problem-solving skills are essential. Candidates must be available to work evenings and weekends. Provide Front of House and crowd management support during performances and events, including greeting patrons, scanning tickets, directing guests to seats, managing audience flow, monitoring venue entrances and exits, and ensuring compliance with venue policies. Deliver exceptional customer service by responding to patron inquiries, assisting with accessibility needs, resolving minor guest concerns, and creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all visitors. Support patron safety by maintaining awareness of venue conditions, assisting with emergency procedures and evacuations when necessary, reporting incidents to supervisors, and helping maintain orderly operations throughout events. Relay important information to patrons e.g. delays, intermissions, photo and video policies, address concerns politely and escalate issues to supervisors when needed. Assist with event preparation and closing duties, including distributing programs, preparing lobby areas, supporting coat check operations, and completing other related duties. Perform other job relates duties as assigned Graduation with a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
Customer service experience, including front-of-house operations and guest support. Knowledge Knowledge of customer service principles and best practices. Knowledge of crowd management and audience flow procedures. Knowledge of venue policies, procedures, and patron service standards. Knowledge of emergency response, evacuation, and safety procedures. Basic knowledge of accessibility accommodations and ADA-related guest services. Skills Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills. Problem-solving and decision-making skills. Work effectively as part of a team. Abilities Ability to provide a positive customer service experience. Ability to remain calm and professional in high-traffic and fast-paced environments. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and special events. Ability to follow established safety and emergency procedures.
