Job Description

A Recreation Facility Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing memberships, maintaining cleanliness, processing payments, and ensuring the smooth operation of the facility. This role involves direct interaction with customers, handling administrative tasks, and enforcing facility policies to create a safe and welcoming environment for all patrons. Professionalism and in-depth knowledge of membership options, pricing, and events are paramount to this role. Greet and assist customers with inquiries, providing information about facility services, programs, and schedules. Address and resolve customer concerns and complaints in a professional and courteous manner. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times, ensuring high-quality service. Check people into the facility, verifying memberships or taking payment for day passes. Answer phones promptly and professionally, providing information and directing calls as needed. Activate and manage memberships, including processing applications and renewals. Maintain accurate membership records and update the database regularly. Be knowledgeable about membership options, pricing, and benefits to assist customers in making informed decisions. Clean and sanitize equipment, common areas, and locker rooms to ensure a hygienic environment. Conduct routine checks of equipment and report any maintenance or repair needs. Fill out and file necessary forms and paperwork accurately and in a timely manner. Check out equipment to patrons and ensure its proper return and condition. Handle cash, credit card transactions, and other payment methods for membership fees, rentals, and other services. Balance the cash register and prepare daily financial reports. Communicate any issues or concerns regarding the facility, equipment, or customers to the management team. Provide updates and feedback to colleagues and supervisors to ensure smooth operation. Enforce facility rules and policies to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all patrons. Monitor facility usage and address any inappropriate behavior or misuse of equipment. Stay informed about upcoming events, classes, and programs happening at the facility. Provide accurate and up-to-date information to customers about events and assist with event-related inquiries. Must be a current UVU student. High school diploma or equivalent, or undergraduate degree-seeking student or individual. Must be able to work on-call with no set/committed hours. Basic computer knowledge and skills. Know policies and procedures as it relates to Member & Guest Services. Operate office machines and equipment. Organization and planning skills. Ability to work well with diverse groups of people. Ability to be trained on new techniques and job responsibilities. Ability to comprehend, carry out, and explain verbal and written instructions or information.
