Job Description

The Marina Attendant is responsible for assisting with the operation, appearance and maintenance of the rental boats and the boat launching ramp area.
Pay Rate:
$ 14.75 per hour Major Duties/Specific Tasks Assists with operation of facility by collecting fees, operating cash registers, issuing fee receipt tickets, selling merchandise, maintaining stock of supplies by loading and/or unloading supplies, and monitors restroom appearance. Registers and assists boaters at the boat launch area. Issues rental paddle boats, kayaks, canoes, and other equipment at the boat rental building. Ensures the safe operation of rental equipment and their proper return after use. Assists with public relations by greeting park visitors, handling inquiries, providing information and assistance, and informing patrons of rules and regulations. Answers telephone and directs inquiries. Assists with appearance of the marina by maintaining work area by cleaning, providing general care of equipment and grounds, emptying trash receptacles, maintaining dock area and marina building, picking up ground trash, weeding landscape beds, etc. Performing routine maintenance as directed. Attend and participate in staff meetings as scheduled. Reports unsafe conditions to Park Management. Carries out additional duties as assigned by Park Management. Minimum Qualifications Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with the public. Ability to operate cash registers and handle cash accurately. Working knowledge of computers. Ability to swim. Ability to learn the operation of the facility and to obtain a working knowledge of NOVA Parks. Strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks, including ability to lift up to 80 lbs, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Ability to perform a variety of duties including custodial tasks. Availability to work a variable work schedule, which may include early and late hours, and weekends and holidays. Required to purchase and wear standard uniform.
