Job Description

Do you want to utilize your customer service and leadership skills to make a positive impact on citizens and guests visiting Parks and Recreation locations? If so, the City of Harrisonburg's Recreation Attendant Senior role in Facilities may be the right job for you! The Recreation Attendant Senior - Facilities position is a year-round part-time position (no benefits) and a preferred hiring rate of $17.92 per hour; however, an exact salary will be dependent upon the selected candidate's qualifications/experience and in compliance with City policy. When you join our team as a Recreation Attendant Senior in Facilities, you'll take the lead during unsupervised hours, ensuring that all customer interactions - whether in person or by phone - are professional and informative. Additionally, you'll be responsible for overseeing the safety and well-being of program areas, patrons, and staff, promoting Parks & Recreation offerings, leading or assisting with a variety of programs and activities, and handling office equipment and software for routine data entry, transaction processing, daily receipt reconciliation, and financial record preparation. High school diploma or GED and moderate (1-3 years) experience in a customer service position or a recreational environment At least 18 years of age. Valid driver's license. CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications required within the first three months of employment. Availability to work a flexible schedule to meet business requirements, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed. This position is subject to the City of Harrisonburg's random drug and alcohol testing program.
