Role Overview:
The Club Director serves as the primary paid staff member responsible for the day-to-day operations of Steamboat Skating Club, a U.S. Figure Skating member club. This role is the operational hub of the club, working closely with the volunteer Board of Directors to carry out club programs, serving members, and advancing the club's mission to provide high-quality figure skating opportunities for skaters of all ages and levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Club Operations o Manage day-to-day club operations, including scheduling, communications, and administrative tasks o Maintain accurate membership records and coordinate annual renewals through U.
S. Figure Skating and club software, Crossbar o Serve as the primary point of contact for members, parents, coaches, and rink management o Coordinate ice time allocation and ensure equitable access for club programs o Recruit, coordinate, and recognize club volunteers in support of events, programs, and operational needs; serve as the primary coordinator for volunteer hours not managed by a standing board committee (e.g., summer camp and similar club-run activities)
- Coaching Staff Management o Recruit, onboard, and maintain contracts for on-ice coaches in coordination with the Board o Serve as the primary liaison between coaching staff and Board o Monitor coach compliance with USFS requirements o Coordinate club specific on-ice and off-ice coach scheduling
- Programs & Events o Support planning and execution of club events including test sessions, ice shows, and social activities o Liaise with coaches to ensure programs align with club goals and member needs
- Financial Administration o Collect and track member dues, program fees, and other club revenues o Assist the Treasurer and Bookkeeper with proper recording of revenue and expenses o Monitor club budget in coordination with the Board and flag variances as needed
- Communications & Community o Manage club communications including email newsletters, website updates, and social media o Promote a welcoming, inclusive club culture consistent with U.S. Figure Skating's values o Build and maintain positive relationships with the host rink, parents, and the local skating community
- Board Support o Prepare operational reports and attend Board of Directors meetings (non-voting) o Implement Board decisions and follow up on action items Requirements & Qualifications
- Required o Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently o Excellent written and verbal communication skills o Proficiency with standard office software (email, spreadsheets, word) o Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, and weekends as needed o Commitment to a positive, safe, and inclusive environment o Must pass a U.
S. Figure Skating-approved background check and complete SafeSport
- Preferred o Prior experience in sports club management, nonprofit management, or related field o Familiarity with U.
S. Figure Skating programs and rules o Experience with Learn to Skate USA or youth sports program coordination o Background in figure skating as a skater, coach, or parent/volunteer o Experience with website management and social media platforms
Pay:
$40,000.00 - $43,000.00 per year
