Job Summary We are seeking self-motivated, certified fitness professionals to operate as Independent Contractor Gym Trainers at our facility. In this 1099 role, you will have complete autonomy to build and manage your personal training business, develop customized training programs, and establish your own client schedule. You will leverage our equipment and space to deliver high-quality instruction while maintaining total control over your training methodologies and business growth.
Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Business Development:
Prospect, onboard, and retain personal training clients to build a sustainable independent roster. Active Personal Training Certification from an accredited organization (e.g., NASM, ACE, NSCA, ACSM). Valid CPR/AED Certification. Active General & Professional Liability Insurance policy naming the facility as an additional insured. Strong business acumen, self-discipline, and interpersonal skills. Prior experience in personal training, strength coaching, or fitness instruction preferred.
As a 1099 contractor, you maintain full control over your training philosophies, client pricing strategies (subject to facility baseline agreements), and daily workflow.
Tax Responsibility:
You are solely responsible for calculating, reporting, and remitting all local, state, and federal taxes, including self-employment taxes (1099 structure).
Compensation Model:
Income is structured around a space rental fee or revenue-split model per session/client, offering uncapped earning potential directly tied to your client volume. Key Operational Requirements for
Trainers Dwell Time Compliance:
Ensuring disinfectants sit on high-touch surfaces for the manufacturer's specified time (typically 60 seconds to 3 minutes) to achieve full pathogen elimination.
Accessible Supplies:
Maintaining quick access to EPA-registered disinfectants, microfiber towels, paper towels, and trash receptacles throughout the training floor.
Cross-Contamination Prevention:
Using separate microfiber cloths or disposable wipes for floor surfaces versus hand-grip stations.
Client Education:
Enforcing a clear "wipe before and after" culture among clients to maintain baseline hygiene between personal training sessions.
