Job Description

The Aquatics Director's primary responsibility is to direct all aspects of the B.R. Ryall YMCA aquatics program including but not limited to pool operations, swim instruction and water programming (excluding aquatics group fitness classes). This role ensures that all B.R. Ryall YMCA aquatics programs and activities are of the highest quality and conducted in a safe environment for all participants.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3+ years of experience in supervisory role in an aquatics program, preferred.
Certification requirements include:
Red Cross Lifeguard certification, Red Cross CPR/AED for the professional rescuer or CPR/AED for lifeguards, First Aid, Pool Operator - preferred, Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor (LGI) - preferred Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software. Must have good interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to make presentations. Strong oral and written skills with strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects. Must possess the ability to handle stressful situations in a calm, professional manner and exhibit good judgment. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments. Must be able to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, night and weekends.
