Manager on Duty New Orleans Jewish Community Center - 3.0 New Orleans, LA Job Details Part-time $20.38 - $24.38 an hour 15 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance 401(k) matching Life insurance Qualifications Employee relationship building Team training Health club & gym management Full Job Description The Manager on Duty (MOD) will assume the lead role in oversight of the JCC Sports and Wellness Center during their assigned shift, including the fitness desk, fitness floor, aquatics, gym, group exercise rooms and main lobby. The MOD oversees the facility for safe and efficient operations, ensures a clean and orderly environment, and provides fitness support to deliver superior member service. What you'll do: Responsible for on-boarding, training and supervising assigned fitness staff. Be readily available to provide tours for prospective members Supervise and monitor exercise areas, assisting members, providing guidance, or spotting when necessary. Ensure excellent customer service and timely responsiveness to handle member, staff requests, and satisfy member needs within acceptable guidelines and resolve any arising issues Create exceptional exercise and fitness culture for all members, including, but not limited to: following- up with current members, checking with members to see if they are reaching or maintaining their fitness goals. Serve as an outlet for member questions or concerns and direct them to the appropriate individual or department to ensure members prompt resolution to those questions and concerns. As an actively participating team-member, assist the fitness desk as necessary affording members a friendly greeting and prompt check-in or other member services. Be prepared to lead and support members and staff in the event of an emergency. Knowledge of JCC emergency, security and safety protocols (i.e. fire alarm evacuation, CPR, etc.). Calling 911 and alerting security personnel in emergency situations Report issues with equipment, fitness areas, gymnasium, covered play area, and back field to Facilities Director and Director of Sports and Fitness Establish and maintain a sound, proactive relationship with staff and member Be actively engaged in "cross selling" the other key revenue components of the JCC to members/guests- i.e. Pre-school, after-school, summer camps, etc.by obtaining sufficient program knowledge of these key program areas. Enforce all policies and procedures of the Sports & Wellness Department. Service diverse populations, including high risk exercise participants Ensure cleaning duties are completed by the team during your shift. Lift/organize weights, towel bins and various pieces of equipment during cleaning Report any problems or situations that arise needing immediate attention to Director of Sports and Fitness Lead by example each day and model proper behaviors for team-members Schedules Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 12pm - 7pm Mondays and Tuesdays, 1 - 5 pm Perks Medical, Dental, Vision & Indemnity Plans 401

Demonstrated ability to train staff; Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a fitness or coaching role Prior experience leading group exercise classes preferred Management experience in a fitness environment ACSM certification a plus National Group Exercise Certification preferred Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science or Kinesiology or related field preferred Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to organize and execute work independently under deadlines; ability to work with grace and good humor under pressure. Ability to work cooperatively with other departments within the JCC. Lead by example; follow all NOJCC policies and procedures as defined in the NOJCC Handbook and as directed by Agency leadership. Basic awareness of Judaism and Jewish cultural norms and traditions
