Job Description

Assistant Swim Coach & Aquatic Director Washington College in Chestertown, MD, is seeking applications for a full-time assistant coach and aquatic director in supervision of the Casey Swim Center, assisting the head coach/aquatic director in both roles.
Essential Functions:
  • Assists Head Swim Coach to organize/conduct practice sessions
  • Assists Head Coach in recruiting prospective student-athletes
  • Assists Head Coach in enforcing team rules and standards, and monitoring conduct of student-athletes representing the team both on and off campus
  • Assists in monitoring academic progress of student-athletes, including but not limited to academic advising and referrals
  • Management of social media accounts representing Washington College Swim Team
  • Helps ensure institutional compliance of the program by adhering to all policies and procedures of the NCAA, Centennial Conference, Washington College, USA Swimming, and all other relevant entities
  • Assists in supervision of facility; knowledge of operations and equipment and ability to respond in an emergency
  • Assists with management of lifeguard staff, weekly scheduling, etc.
  • Assists with meet set-up and take-down
  • Vacuums pool once a week, or as needed
  • Pool chemical testing as required by the Kent County Health Department
  • Responsible for facility when Head Coach is away
  • Assists Head Coach to recommend athletes for awards and other honors
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience (as a coach and/or swimmer) at the collegiate level preferred
