Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Director of Wellness, the Director of Fitness leads the health and wellness experience at the Westwood Park branch — overseeing personal training, small group training, athlete programming, and wellness floor operations while building a team and culture that helps every member set goals, find community, and thrive. The Director of Fitness builds upon distinctive athletic culture at Westwood Park — establishing a sports performance program that serves athletes of all ages alongside the broader membership community — while ensuring that every touchpoint reflects the Y's mission of building healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED
  • Current NCCA-accredited personal training certification (NASM, ACE, NSCA, ACSM, or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 2+ years of related experience, including supervisory and program development experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing fitness and wellness staff teams.
  • Skills and knowledge in developing and implementing a wide range of wellness programs, including hiring, training, and supervision of staff and volunteers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from employees, members, and community partners.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certified (or ability to certify prior to start date).
PREFERRED
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Experience working with youth athletes and/or sports performance programming.
  • Background in semi-private or small group training program design and management.
  • Experience with budget management and financial oversight.
  • Additional specialty certifications (CSCS, Precision Nutrition, FMS, etc.
).
