Job Description
AGM in Traning -La Fitness Role Overview The Fitness Club Leadership Development Associate program prepares high-potential team members for future leadership opportunities within LA Fitness. The role focuses on learning and applying the sales, marketing, operational, and leadership practices that support membership growth and overall club performance. Through hands-on experience, coaching, and mentorship, participants will build the knowledge and skills needed to assume the responsibilities of an Assistant General Manager. Ideal candidates bring a strong work ethic, leadership potential, enthusiasm for fitness, and a commitment to creating exceptional member experiences while contributing to club revenue. Core Areas of Responsibility Membership Sales & Lead Generation Apply LA Fitness sales processes and membership presentation techniques. Generate new memberships through prospecting and self-sourced leads. Work consistently toward achieving and exceeding individual sales targets. Conduct facility tours and explain membership options to prospective members. Maintain an organized pipeline of qualified prospects. Staff Support & Leadership Growth Set the standard through personal performance, professionalism, and accountability. Develop the ability to motivate, coach, and support team members in improving club production. Assist with staff training related to sales, prospecting, and member retention. Help cultivate an energetic, positive, and performance-focused workplace. Daily Club Operations Build the skills necessary to oversee club operations when the General Manager is unavailable. Learn scheduling, reporting, staff accountability, and daily administrative procedures. Support consistent standards for cleanliness, professionalism, and member satisfaction. Weekend Club Performance Develop the ability to manage weekend club operations effectively. Work toward achieving and maintaining a Weekend Performance Score of 80% or higher. Support weekend sales activity and help the team surpass club objectives. Local Marketing & Outreach Plan and carry out indoor and outdoor marketing initiatives. Create leads through community events, local businesses, partnerships, and grassroots outreach. Represent the club in the local community to strengthen brand awareness and identify membership opportunities. Community Partnerships & Business Development Build and maintain relationships with nearby businesses and community organizations. Identify partnership opportunities that support membership growth. Coordinate business relationships that contribute to successful MAD Membership Appreciation Day Close-Out Parties and other club events. Program Outcomes Upon completing the leadership development program, participants should be prepared to: Perform the full range of Assistant General Manager responsibilities. Manage weekend operations at a performance level of 80% or higher. Lead the club team in production and help improve overall team results. Create, organize, and execute effective indoor and outdoor marketing campaigns. Serve as acting General Manager when the General Manager is not available. Establish and maintain business partnerships that support club growth and successful MAD Close-Out Parties. Consistently generate membership sales and qualified leads. Preferred Qualifications Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Positive, energetic attitude with an interest in sales, leadership, and fitness. Ability to motivate, guide, and influence others. Goal-focused mindset and competitive desire to succeed. Strong organization and time-management abilities. Flexibility to work varied schedules, including evenings and weekends. Advancement Opportunities The Fitness Club Leadership Development Associate role is designed to serve as a development track toward an Assistant General Manager position and, ultimately, a General Manager role within LA Fitness. Individuals who complete the program successfully and demonstrate strong leadership performance may pursue advancement opportunities throughout the organization.
