Immediately Job DescriptionPOSITION/ GOAL
To coordinate, organize, and produce the high school theater program and provide an effective program of experience for Interboro High School students. This is considered an extracurricular contract.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Oversees the artistic vision of the production. . Approves the proposed costume and scenic designs.
- Guides the cast and crew.
Strategic Planning:
Casting, Blocking, and Scheduling rehearsals- Communicates clearly with parents the schedule and expectations of the cast regarding behavior, rehearsal attendance, and commitment to the show.
Team Management:
Checking in on the work of each member of the creative and technical team.Performance Accountability:
director's notes for cast and crew during rehearsal- Discussing Financial Management with Production Manager
- "Calling the show" during the performances. . Directs technical cues for sound, lighting, and mics on headset. . Communicates with stage manager backstage to assist with the show running smoothly (curtain calls, preparing cast to find their places) . Troubleshoot any problems that arise.
