We're looking for a dynamic, driven, and versatile media professional to serve as our Editor-in-Chief and On-Air Host, along with play-by-play sports coverage. This is a unique, high-impact role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, community-focused environment and is passionate about local journalism across radio, digital, and social platforms. Position Overview This leadership role combines newsroom management, content creation, and on-air presence. You'll oversee editorial content for our digital platforms while also connecting with listeners on-air and in the community. Key Responsibilities Editorial Leadership Oversee all content published on our digital news platform
Make final editorial decisions using strong, ethical news judgment
Serve as Editor-in-Chief, managing reporters and contributors
Lead daily news coverage, including breaking news and enterprise reporting
Produce and edit content for web, social, and on-air use
Create daily newsletters, push alerts, and top story updates
Use analytics and digital tools to guide content strategy On-Air & Content Creation Host a daily on-air shift (afternoons)
Deliver local news updates and reports on-air
Represent the station at events, remotes, and in the community
Assist with commercial production and promotions Sports Coverage (Preferred / Bonus Skillset) Lead local high school sports coverage
Provide play-by-play for football and basketball
Produce pre-game and post-game shows
Coordinate with local schools and coaches Team Leadership & Collaboration Lead weekly staff meetings and mentor newsroom team members
Assign and edit reporter content
Work closely with sales, broadcast, and digital teams
Contribute to sponsored and community-focused content initiatives Qualifications 3-5+ years of experience in journalism, broadcasting, or digital media
Strong writing, editing, and on-air skills
Leadership experience or readiness to step into a leadership role
Experience with digital platforms and content management systems
Social media proficiency and audience engagement skills
Sports play-by-play experience is a strong plus What We're Looking For A self-starter who can lead and execute
