iSwim Academy of Irving is a dedicated aquatics training facility committed to water safety, swimmer development, and excellence in aquatic programming. We are growing our leadership team and looking for a passionate aquatics professional ready to make an immediate impact.COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Competitive hourly rate of $18.00 - $20.00, based on experience and certifications. High potential for performance bonuses and ongoing incentive programs upto $3000 to $10,000 a Year Comprehensive healthcare coverage. Full-time position — guaranteed 40 hours per week with consistent scheduling. Opportunity for advancement within iSwim Academy of Irving.ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a certified, experienced, and safety-driven aquatics professional to serve as our Assistant Aquatics Director. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires both strong administrative capabilities and the ability to get in the water when needed. You will work directly alongside the Aquatics Director to maintain our facility, develop curriculum, manage deck operations, and step in to instruct classes as a substitute when coaches are unavailable — ensuring our swimmers always receive consistent, quality instruction.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Pool & Equipment Maintenance and Management Monitor and maintain water quality by testing and adjusting chemical levels in compliance with local health codes and facility standards. Curriculum Development Design, develop, and continuously improve swim lesson curricula for all age groups and skill levels — including learn-to-swim, stroke development, adult programming, and specialty offerings. Ensure all curricula align with industry best practices, iSwim Academy standards, and participant safety requirements. Create instructor training materials, swimmer progression benchmarks, and assessment tools. Collaborate with the Aquatics Director to evaluate program outcomes and implement improvements. Develop seasonal and specialty programs to grow enrollment and community engagement. Deck Management During Active Classes Oversee all deck operations during swim lessons and aquatic programming to ensure safety, structure, and instructional quality. Supervise, mentor, and provide real-time feedback to swim instructors and lifeguards on deck. Manage participant check-in, class groupings, lane assignments, and smooth session transitions. Respond immediately and appropriately to aquatic emergencies, enforcing all safety protocols at all times. Serve as the primary point of contact for parents, participants, and staff during active programming. Instructional Participation & Substitute Coverage Actively participate in class instruction as needed — including entering the water to demonstrate techniques, assist swimmers, or provide hands-on support. Step in as a substitute instructor when coaches or swim instructors are absent or unavailable, ensuring no class is left without qualified leadership. Maintain current swim instruction certifications to remain eligible to teach across all program levels. Model excellent instructional technique and professionalism as a standard-setter for the coaching staff.QUALIFICATIONS
Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification, or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire. Current Lifeguard certification (American Red Cross or equivalent). CPR/AED and First Aid certification. Demonstrated experience in aquatics programming, pool operations, or a related supervisory role. Ability and willingness to enter the water and instruct classes as needed. Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Water Safety Instructor (WSI) or Swim Instructor certification. Experience developing swim lesson curriculum for diverse age groups and abilities. Prior experience in a leadership or management role in an Aquatics Facility.WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role is based at our aquatic facility in Irving, TX. Candidates must be comfortable working in a poolside environment, including exposure to water, humidity, and pool chemicals. Flexibility for morning, evening, and weekend availability is required to support program scheduling.HOW TO APPLY
