Job Description

What you get to do:
Work with co-leader to direct leadership and oversight of dive team operations during assigned shifts by prioritizing and assigning daily work, monitoring productivity and professional conduct, providing real-time coaching and performance feedback, addressing performance concerns through corrective action when appropriate, and partnering with management to prepare and deliver employee performance evaluations, development plans, and disciplinary actions. Lead pre-shift briefings, communicate operational priorities, and ensure compliance with all dive safety standards, operational procedures, and emergency response protocols. Document operational, safety, and personnel issues and communicate recommendations for process improvements to management. Act as a primary point of contact for after-hours operational decisions and escalate significant personnel, safety, or animal-related concerns to management as appropriate. Primary resource of technical information for the department Order and maintain the proper stock of materials to ensure smooth operation of the department Maintain and provide support to the Manager/Director for budget control Maintain and approve daily timesheets and weekly schedules of all ambassadors within the department Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, mentoring, and maintaining the qualifications of new divers and dive support personnel. Assist and maintain open communication with other departments Perform other departmental ad hoc duties as instructed by management What it takes to succeed: Must be at least 18 years of age Must have a high school diploma or equivalent Must have at least 5 years' experience as a working diver in an aquatic life support facility or other water treatment facility. Must have a minimum 2 years' of leadership experience in Water Quality or similar Maintenance Shop Must have strong knowledge of fluid hydraulics and advanced water treatment processes Must be SCUBA certified and be able to pass a pre-employment dive physical Must be able to complete provided CPR training/certification Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills Must be able to swim and work in/around water Must be able to stand for long periods of time Must be able to lift, push/pull 80 pounds Must be able to bend, reach, twist, and turn with complete flexibility Must be available to work varying shifts or hours based on park hours; i.e. be able to work opening and closing shifts Possession of or ability to obtain a valid driver's license required within 3 months Desired Qualifications Possession of advanced SCUBA or commercial diving certifications preferred Experience with risk management and safety monitoring preferred The perks of the position: Paid Time Off Complimentary Park Tickets and Passes Park Discounts on Food and Merchandise Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance 401K Retirement plan
