Job Description

Overview John's Island Club is seeking a highly motivated, service-oriented Class A PGA Professional to serve as Lead Assistant Professional for the North/South golf operations. Working closely with the Head Golf Professional, this position supports daily golf operations, tournament programs, staff leadership, and member services while helping deliver an exceptional golf experience for members and their guests. The ideal candidate is a confident, collaborative PGA Professional who leads by example, supports the team, and consistently puts the member experience first. Experience Required
  • Class A PGA Member.
  • Extensive tournament operations experience; Golf Genius experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the game of golf, Rules of Golf, tournament administration, golf instruction, and golf operations.
  • Knowledge of practice facility operation and management.
  • Highly motivated, hardworking team player with strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Passionate about playing golf and engaging with members, guests, and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver a high level of customer service with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills. Essential Responsibilities
  • Support the Head Golf Professional in all aspects of daily golf operations, including the Golf Shop, Bag Room, Cart Program, practice facility, and tournament programs.
  • Assist with leading, mentoring, scheduling, and developing Assistant Professionals and Outside Service staff; maintain daily checklists and operational standards.
  • Coordinate and assist with weekly, league, and major tournaments, utilizing Golf Genius to organize and execute events for an active and engaged membership.
  • Manage tee times, player check-in, golf play records, billing support, and daily member services.
  • Perform Starter/Ranger duties, monitor Pace of Play, assist players on the course, and help enforce club regulations.
  • Assist with Bag Drop operations and ensure golf carts and related outside-service areas are prepared for daily play.
  • Oversee and support Driving Range operations and other practice-facility activities.
  • Perform Golf Shop opening and closing procedures, sales, merchandising, and member-service responsibilities.
  • Provide instruction through private lessons and support club instructional programs, as appropriate.
  • Build positive relationships with members, guests, and staff by consistently demonstrating professionalism, attention to detail, and a service- and solution-oriented approach.
  • Maintain a strong presence within the membership, including playing golf with members, guests, and staff. Benefits What John's Island Club Offers
