Lead Assistant Golf Professional Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Supervise, coach and evaluate new and existing staff including starters, outside service attendants, retail attendants and assistant golf professionals Directly oversee staffing the golf operations including recruiting, hiring, and training in accordance with W.E.L.L. standards Oversee the development and oversight of work schedules and daily duties for outside and inside golf operations Oversee labor reporting and management of financial labor budgets and implement staffing efficiencies when needed Encourage, mentor, coach, train and develop team members to ensure their maximum value so that the guest experience is realized Conduct performance reviews and provide corrective coaching with the Head Golf Professional Responsible for the training and ensuring all staff members being W.E.L.L certified Hold all team members accountable for their areas of responsibility in accordance with W.E.L.L Standards Responsible for daily opening & closing procedures ensuring the shop is cleanly, stocked, and prepared to meet club standards Lead daily huddle meetings in the absence of Head Golf Professional Complete daily operational reviews of all golf operations member facing and heart of house areas. Acting Manager on Duty in the absence of the Head Golf Professional Control and manage daily tee sheets and play; ensure efficient and correct guest check in and fee collection Review and process invoices, ensuring accuracy, proper approvals, and timely manner Prepare reports, operational analyses, and recommendations for leadership Assist Head Golf Professional in operational revenue and expense forecasts Assist Head Golf Professional in the development and management of operational budgets Analyze financial performance and recommend operational improvements as needed to the Head Golf Professional Provide leadership in member engagement, including but not limited to continuous engaging with members and guests on the golf course and practice facility Develop and implement operating procedures for facility specific needs when in alignment and accordance with Club W.E.L.L standards and Golf Operations Department processes Manage pace of play initiatives and policies regularly throughout daily course rides Resolve member concerns utilizing W.E.L.L standards and individual judgement Assist in managing and executing internal and external golf events to ensure events run efficiently and professionally Actively involved in retail management and sales within their respective club Responsible for the leadership of merchandising including receiving, displaying, taking inventory, and promoting golf shop sales in accordance with directives from the Head Golf Professional and Retail Directo Ensures golf shop is being kept clean and organized Provide instruction to guests and members including individual lessons, clinics, and junior camps as needed Ensures practice facility is maintained, and members are provided with a positive practice experience to include clean practice balls, proper bag stand setup, daily rotation of hitting areas, and clean range mats, as needed Assist in management of golf cart fleet to include maintenance and ensure golf carts are up to The Landings Golf & Athletic Club standards for cleanliness and safety as directed by the Head Golf Professional Enforce Club rules and policies with members and guests Enforces USGA rules and golf with members and guests Assure that all work is performed within the club's safety standards Attend weekly meetings facility as needed and Golf Department meetings in the absence of the Head Golf Professional Plays golf with members when approved by the Head Golf Professional Maintains personal and professional development Serve as a leader and ambassador for our Club in industry events and tournaments. Lead Assistant Golf Professional Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
High School Diploma or related required
PGA/LPGA
Apprentice or Member required Must be experienced in Golf Operations & Tournament/Group Golf Operations Prior experience with Golf Event Management programs such as Golf Genius System Knowledge of USGA Rules of Golf & GHIN Handicap system preferred Professional level written and oral communication skills Accurate typing, filing, record keeping, grammar, and spelling A demonstrated ability to act independently, organize workload, set priorities, work well under deadline pressures, adapt to change, and handle confidential information Possesses a passion for customer service and elevated guest experiences Extremely flexible with ability to reprioritize work as required, work in a team environment, and present a positive demeanor Ability and willingness to work after hours or on weekends on an occasional basis to meet workload, event or Club demands Ability to understand and summarize complex concepts presented in board meetings and keep impeccable notes for reporting purposes Ability to exercise independent problem solving and decision making with a high degree of initiative and self-coordination Advanced computer skills using Windows, Outlook (Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint)
Lead Assistant Golf Professional Physical Demands:
Sits at computer & answer phone 20% of workday Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, sit, reach, grasp, talk, hear, listen, bend, twist, kneel and perform repetitive motions Ability to push, pull, lift, carry or otherwise move up to 20 lbs Ability to work in a variety of outside weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wind and rain Ability to work varied shifts inclusive of evenings, weekends and holidays Playing golf and/or hitting golf balls 10% of shift
