Our After School Care program extends the school day with meaningful activities, opportunities for social connection, and supportive care that respects each child's individuality. Position Overview Creekstone Kids Club is seeking caring, dependable, and enthusiastic individuals to serve as After School Program Leads for our new elementary after-school program. This program will provide a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for children after the school day through a balance of structured activities, creative exploration, outdoor play, and community building. While the program is not strictly Montessori, it is grounded in Montessori-inspired principles, including respect for the child, independence, mixed-age collaboration, hands-on learning, and peaceful conflict resolution. The Lead will help create a calm, organized, and joyful environment while supervising children and guiding daily program activities. Responsibilities Plan and lead engaging after-school activities, including art, games, STEM, outdoor play, practical life activities, and enrichment opportunities Create a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment for all children Support children's independence, problem-solving, and social-emotional development Supervise daily routines, including snack, transitions, outdoor time, and dismissal Build positive relationships with students, families, and staff Guide assistant staff and help maintain smooth daily operations Maintain classroom organization, materials, and program supplies Follow all school safety procedures and behavior expectations Communicate effectively with school administration and families as needed Qualifications Experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or after-school settings Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to manage groups of children in a calm and respectful manner Dependable, flexible, and collaborative Passion for child-centered education Montessori experience or knowledge is preferred but not required CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain) Must pass required background checks Preferred Qualities We are especially interested in candidates who: Value hands-on, experiential learning Foster independence and responsibility in children Approach behavior guidance with patience and respect Enjoy creating meaningful relationships with students Bring creativity, initiative, and positive energy to the program How to Apply Please send your resume and a brief cover letter to msturm@creeskstonemontessori.org with the subject line Creekstone Kids Club Lead Application.
