Salary:
$3,000- $3,500 (for the summer) + Travel Costs Covered About Camp Chateaugay Camp Chateaugay is a traditional co-ed residential summer camp located in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains of New York.
- 4 cabins of a specific age group between the ages of 9-12 for Summer 2026.
Key Responsibilities include:
Camper Care & Wellbeing Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all campers within the unit. Monitor campers' social adjustment and emotional wellbeing. Help create a safe, inclusive, and fun unit culture. Staff Supervision & Support Supervise and support cabin counselors within the unit. Oversee counselors' schedules, time off (ODs), and responsibilities. Provide mentorship, guidance, and performance support to staff. Assist in conflict resolution and behavior management when needed. Parent Communication Serve as the primary point of contact for unit families. Conduct pre-camp phone calls with each family to discuss camper needs, concerns, and goals. Maintain regular communication with parents throughout the summer. Help ensure smooth camper transitions and positive family relationships. Camp Operations Participate in camp-wide leadership responsibilities. Assist with "rovering" (helping coordinate and move campers between activities when needed). Support special events, evening programs, and camp initiatives. Collaborate with directors and head staff on camper and staff support strategies. Required Qualifications Previous experience working with children. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to manage staff and support camper wellbeing. Patient, approachable, and solution-oriented. Comfortable working in a residential camp environment.Compensation & Benefits Salary:
$3,000- $3,500 for the summer (based on experience).
