Duties Lead and supervise groups of children during camp activities, ensuring they are engaged, safe, and supported throughout their day Facilitate youth group activities such as sports, arts and crafts, outdoor games, theater performances, and educational lessons that promote teamwork and personal growth Manage behavior using positive reinforcement strategies and effective behavior management techniques to maintain a respectful and inclusive environment Coordinate with fellow staff members to plan daily schedules, assign roles, and ensure smooth operation of all camp programs Implement first aid protocols promptly when necessary, including administering CPR or AED operation if required, following established safety procedures Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance by applying inclusive teaching practices and collaborating with specialized staff when needed Uphold all safety standards by conducting regular safety checks of activity areas and equipment while maintaining clear communication with emergency responders in case of incidents
Lead & Mentor:
Oversee a team of camp counselors, providing daily guidance, motivation, and constructive feedback.
Camp Transportation :
Drive the company vehicle daily to provide camper transportation before and after camp, as well as for daily field trips around the Greater Cleveland area.
Juggle Logistics:
Handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously, from inventorying supplies to communicating with parents and managing camp logistics. Experience Prior experience working with children in educational settings such as daycare, preschool, or after-school programs is highly desirable Demonstrated leadership experience in camp settings or youth programs that involve team coordination and activity facilitation Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices Certifications including First Aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), AED (Automated External Defibrillator) operation, and First Aid protocols are required; additional certifications like lifeguarding or outdoor activity training are a plus Experience in outdoor work environments or sports coaching enhances your ability to lead active outdoor activities effectively
Driving Record:
Must possess a valid Driver's License with less than 5 points on your record, plus active car insurance (required for company vehicle insurance approval).
Background Check:
Must successfully pass a comprehensive criminal background check and sex offender registry screening.
