JOB SUMMARY
The Club Custodian Lead (CCL) is a part of our club's leadership team and is responsible for keeping our clubs clean and safe for our members. This role is a perfect opportunity to start a leadership career in the fitness industry. Our Club Custodian team delivers the signature Member Experience by providing a clean, safe, and maintained club environment for all members. The right candidate will thrive as they interact positively and professionally with staff, members, prospective members and guests while monitoring club cleanliness, safety, and maintenance standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - WHAT YOU WILL DO
Maintain a safe environment through correct implementation of safety policies and procedures Utilize specialized tools to perform deep cleaning and disinfection job duties Responsible for following and adhering to all cleaning processes in our Clean Approach Maintain cleanliness record keeping through Job Cards and communication logs Assist in daily upkeep of club amenities Assist in building our community of members through a consistent member experience During the season, where applicable, monitor the bodies of water as needed and enforce rules at all times Attend and participate in required meetings and trainings as needed Leadership and Team Development Lead floor training for new Club Custodians (CCs), providing hands-on walkthroughs of cleaning zones, chemical mixing stations, Clean Approach Binder (CAB) procedures, and cleaning cards; retrain existing team members as needed Coach, mentor, and support Club Custodian team members to enhance skills, performance, and accountability Serve as an ambassador for the CC team, effectively communicating team feedback, concerns, and opportunities to the General Manager and Assistant General Manager (AGM) Support the General Manager with scheduling and proactively addressing coverage needs resulting from absences or operational demands Assist in identifying positive performance trends and opportunities for improvement to enhance housekeeping efficiency and service quality Operational Duties Perform daily walk-throughs to ensure efficient housekeeping operations that consistently support club cleanliness standards and member satisfaction Review the CAB daily; develop and adjust weekly cleaning schedules as needed; verify standards in zone completion, locker room checklists, and pool testing documentation Partner with the General Manager and AGM to maintain appropriate inventory levels of cleaning supplies and operational materials Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support overall club operations Revised 12.29.2025 Requirements
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS - WHO YOU ARE
Basic fitness experience and passion for fitness Pool maintenance experience a plus Effectively communicates in English, both verbally and in writing Ability to lead, coach and mentor team members to achieve high standards of cleanliness, safety, and member service Knowledge of cleaning chemicals Flexible/positive attitude in meeting and exceeding our members' expectations Work well under pressure and time constraints and displays positive behavior in all member contacts Willing and able to work a flexible shift: overnight, weekends, and holidays Bilingual skills a plus Current CPR or ability to pass CPR certification within first 30 days of hire First Aid Training (required only at clubs with Pool Slides)

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently required to walk, stand, and move throughout club facilities and outdoor areas for up to 8 hours per day, and may also sit for extended periods for planning and administrative work. Team members may be exposed to cleaning chemicals, pool chemicals, dust, noise, temperature fluctuations (hot and cold environments), and airborne particles, and will be required to wear designated personal protective equipment (PPE) as directed. Team members are frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, grip, and operate tools and equipment; reach, push, and pull with arms and hands; occasional climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and to bend and twist, including side-to-side movements. The team member may be required to lift, carry, or move up to 25 pounds, will often be required to lift, carry, or move 26-50 pounds. National Fitness Center is part of In-Shape Solutions, LLC d.b.a.
