Job Description

Salary Information Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade. •A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations•Nature of Work The fundamental reason this classification exists is to plan, coordinate, and manage various events, to include concerts, cruises, festivals, parades, weddings, and other special events for public assembly facilities. The primary work responsibilities of this position are soliciting, selling, and booking leases for special events; planning and coordinating events; fostering and maintaining sponsorship relationships; performing administrative duties; managing food service operations; supervising temporary and contract workers; and completing other duties as assigned. The Events Coordinator will assist the Events Manager in executing all departmental programming within the City Events department and will report to the Museum Director or the department's designated representative within the Museum. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of experience in planning, coordinating, and promoting special events in a large public assembly facility. A Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, marketing, or a closely related field may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience.
NOTE:
Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered. Special Requirements Must work nights, weekends and holidays as required. Physical ability to lift equipment and supplies up to 50 pounds as needed to load, unload, and set up for special events. Kind of Examination Applications are being accepted to fill one (1) current vacancy and any vacancies that may occur from the date of the established list of eligible candidates.
