  • Part-time Job Summary At Valley Community Church (VCC), we believe every person — regardless of ability — belongs in the full life of the body.
The Disability Ministry Coordinator plays a vital role in making that a reality. This isn't primarily an administrative position: it's a calling to shepherd families, advocate for those who may not have a voice, and build bridges between individuals with disabilities and the wider VCC community. In this role, you'll be responsible to recruit and train volunteers, partner closely with families, and collaborate across ministry teams to create spaces where everyone truly belongs. VCC is a fun, growing church in the Tri-Valley with a clear mission to make, mature, and mobilize apprentices of Jesus. Our staff culture is collaborative, joy-filled, and deeply rooted in relationships. We value humility, curiosity, laughter, and faithfulness. If God is stirring your heart toward this kind of ministry and culture, we invite you to prayerfully consider joining our team. Duties Build strong, trusting relationships with families of individuals with disabilities. Connect with volunteers and families to coordinate student needs and support plans. Manage email communications for volunteer scheduling, lesson plans and upcoming events. Carry out social media and marketing initiatives via the ministry's website and social accounts. Assist in recruiting and training volunteers for Sunday services and special events. Prepare materials for weekly class lessons and the special needs 'buddy' program. Create, organize and maintain files for ministry participants within the church's database (Planning Center). Assist with background checks and child safety training for ministry volunteers. Assist with planning and execution of special events. Includes event registrations, room reservations, volunteer recruitment, decorating, and set-up/clean-up. Research ministry resources and stay up to date on relevant trainings and articles. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Kids & Disability Ministry Director. Requirements A follower of Jesus with a heart for serving individuals with disabilities . Experience in disability support. At least one year required. Able to work Sunday mornings supporting the disability ministry. Calm under pressure and flexible in dynamic ministry environments. High level of discretion, integrity, and emotional intelligence.. Values teamwork, collaboration, flexibility and accountability. A confident communicator who builds trust with families and volunteers. Skilled at recruiting, training and empowering volunteers. Strong organizational skills for scheduling and coordinating ministry programs and events. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites and church management software. Ability to pick up new apps and software quickly.
